In South Korea and China, dachshunds are among the breeds most commonly abandoned, neglected and sometimes sold to the meat trade. The dogs you see here have been rescued by our partner shelters, but their journey to safety in the UK is far from over.

Getting a single dachshund from Asia to a loving home in the UK means weeks or months of shelter, veterinary treatment, vaccinations, worming, mandatory rabies testing, complex paperwork and a long-haul flight. Some dogs arrive at our partner shelters having experienced significant trauma, needing extensive medical care and rehabilitation before they are fit to travel to their forever homes. The total cost typically exceeds £5,500 per dog and without the generosity of donors like you, many would never make it to the UK.

As a sponsor you’ll help cover everything a dachshund in our care needs, including:

• Nutritious food and safe shelter, giving each dog the stability and care they need to recover and thrive in our partner facilities across Asia
• Veterinary treatment, medicines and specialist care, including treatment for the injuries, neglect and trauma that many of our dachshunds arrive with.
• Vaccinations, microchipping, worming and parasite treatment, ensuring every dog meets the strict health requirements for import to the UK
• Rabies titer testing, health certificates and documentation, the complex and costly paperwork that every dog must complete before they can fly
