Volunteer Role: Fundraising Outreach & Support Coordinator

Reporting to: Charity Manager 
Location: Remote 
Time Commitment: Approximately 2-4 hours per week. 
Role Type: Voluntary 

We are seeking a proactive, reliable and enthusiastic Fundraising Outreach & Support Coordinator to join our fundraising team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys communicating with people, building relationships and identifying new opportunities to help raise vital funds for our charity. 

The role will focus on developing fundraising opportunities with individuals, businesses, community groups and organisations, while also providing practical support across the wider Fundraising Team. This may include helping with auctions, raffles and fundraising campaigns as well as providing additional cover when other fundraising volunteers are unavailable, including during holidays or periods of increased workload. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Identifying potential fundraising opportunities with individuals, businesses, community groups and organisations 
  • Proactively contacting potential supporters and organisations to introduce the charity and explore opportunities to work together 
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with supporters, businesses, community groups and organisations 
  • Identifying opportunities for charity participation in local events, community activities and other fundraising initiatives 
  • Supporting the Fundraising Team with auctions, raffles, fundraising campaigns, events and other fundraising activities, particularly when capacity is reduced. 
  • Maintaining accurate records of outreach activity, contacts, opportunities and outcome 
  • Attending a monthly team meeting via Microsoft Teams 
  • Maintaining regular communication with the Fundraising Team 
  • Maintaining confidentiality and handling supporters’ personal information appropriately and securely 
  • Complying with all charity policies, procedures and values 

Skills & Attributes Required 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
• General computer literacy and confidence using Microsoft Excel, Word, email and Facebook 
• Strong organisational skills and good attention to detail 
• Proactive, reliable and able to work independently. 
• Flexible and willing to provide support across different fundraising activities when required

Onboarding Process 

Shortlisted candidates will take part in a brief interview via Microsoft Teams to assess suitability for the role. Successful applicants will be required to: 

• Sign a Confidentiality Agreement and Volunteer Agreement 
• Provide identification to allow background checks to be completed 
• Attend a general DMT DRSG induction session and complete role-specific training 

Once all checks and training are successfully completed, you will begin a trial period in the role.
