Never did I think that watching a video on TikTok would change our lives in the way that it has. We came across the then Winston and Vienna on a Sunday morning in bed scrolling, as you do, we’d moved in to our first home together 6 weeks previously. I’d always dreamed of owning a dachshund and we’d discussed at length that we’d eventually be getting some dogs to join our family. Little did we know that 2.5 weeks later we’d be opening the doors on the now Oscar and Willow’s crates in our kitchen!
The process was incredibly easy, from applying on a Sunday, our interview on the Monday at 5, to our phone call 2 hours later saying we’d been successful and would be their paw-rents!
We’ll never know fully what they’ve been through but nothing prepared us for how happy they were to see us, their tales audibly wagging against the insides of the crates. These two little amazing dogs have taken everything we’ve thrown at them with ease, remaining so chilled at all times. They settled in within a few days and we’ve had absolutely no issues with them since.
Their little characters are VERY much coming out, revealing some cheeky yet incredibly adorable behaviour! We really wouldn’t have them any other way and they remain adored by everyone that meets them. Oscar is so laid back he’s practically horizontal, he loves a ball in particular, and VERY much does things at his own pace .Willow absolutely loves a fuss and a cuddle, she does everything at 100 miles an hour and loves a zoomie!
We genuinely feel like we’ve won the lottery with Oscar and Willow! They are so gentle, so loving, the way that they look at us sometimes feels like they are saying “thank you”. They’re amazing when they come to work with me in the salon and also fantastic with my 2 year old niece. They continue to surprise us with just how much love they have to give and just how they take everything in their tiny legged strides
We’d love to thank DMT DRSG and Yousachen for all the work that they did to give us the opportunity to be Oscar and Willow’s furever home, for all the love and joy they’ve brought to us already and, of course, for rescuing them in the first place!
Eternally grateful!
