I’d been following DMT for a while. Seeing these special dogs needing forever homes was something that just felt so very right for me.
I remember seeing a post for Scout saying that he hadn’t had one application. I totally believe that everything happens for a reason, and I knew he was the one for me.
I picked up my little man on the 14th March at Cobham services. We fell in love with him instantly.
Meeting his two dachshund brothers Murph and Moose went brilliantly, and my little Sausage trio of a story had begun.
The pride I feel that I’ve changed his life on a daily basis is such a blessing to me, but I can firmly say he’s changed mine for the better too.
We decided to change his name to Marley. He is living his best life: He’s my happy, crazy and full of fun Sausage who runs everywhere. With his wonky legs, big feet and his wonderful mix of Dachshund, choosing him is the best thing I’ve ever done. He makes me smile every single day with his funny ways.
Seeing him grow into the dog he was always meant to be is just the best feeling. I don’t think I’ll ever grow tired of seeing him run free, or asleep snuggled up to his brothers.
I thank DMT for choosing me to be his mum and I’m so proud to be a part of this incredible charity, filled with amazing people who want the same thing: To get these special dogs home to a life they so deserve. I’ve not only gained my wonderful Marley but I’m now part of the DMT family.
Anyone who’s thinking of adopting, please do so – it really is life changing!
Happy Christmas to all those special Sausages and all that love them and everyone at DMT.
