On the 28th of July we adopted our 2nd son, Albus. I had always wanted our 2nd one to be called Albus and he was a twin of our daxie Oswald, it seemed like fate! Albus had a tough start in the UK with his first home not working out and I really hoped we could give him his happily ever after.
We picked him up from his foster home with Maxine where he was staying while they found him another home. I think he had fallen completely in love with Maxine (who wouldn’t?!) so he was sad to leave her. Thank you so much to Maxine for her ongoing support and love for Albus, we couldn’t have done it without you.
He was really in his shell when he came to us – very quiet and reserved and unsure of what was going on. Even though he was quiet, he showed you how much love he had to give with endless cuddles and kisses. He quickly became my little shadow who I couldn’t imagine life without now. He’s definitely a mummy’s boy ❤️
Slowly but surely, we started to see Albus’ mischievous character coming out. He loves to play (sometimes a bit too much!) and is at his happiest off the lead in a big field racing around at top speed. We also learnt that Albus has really expensive taste – Apple Watches, Ugg slippers and glasses – you name it Albus has chewed it 😂 . Albus is super intelligent and picks things up very quickly, so we quickly learnt that he needs a lot of exercise and stimulation.
Albus and his brother haven’t had the perfect start, but we’re getting there. Oswald is very patient with him, but Albus can be a little territorial and sometimes anxious. He thrives in a calm environment with a lot of routine. Luckily he has his brother Oswald to show him what it’s like to relax and not have a care in the world. The charity have also found us a behaviourist to work through this with him. We’re all so ready to give Albus all the love that he needs.
We’re excited for 2025 with Albus and we can’t wait to take him on holiday with us to Cornwall and maybe even Italy 🇮🇹 ☀️.
Thank you DMT for bringing my boy to me. Forever grateful for all the hard work you do on a daily basis to make sure these sausages find their forever homes. Please give these angels a chance at a happily ever after.
