Today marks an incredible achievement for DMT DRSG as we celebrate our 300th rescue.
Our latest arrival is a beautiful 7-year-old girl who was saved from a kill shelter this morning by our partners at Yousachen. Despite everything she has been through, she is already showing her gentle spirit and wagging tail.
Health checks are underway, and we are pleased to report that she has tested negative for heartworm, distemper, giardia and parvo. However, she has tested positive for canine coronavirus and is receiving care and plenty of love whilst we monitor her progress.
It Started With Grace
DMT DRSG began as a small group on Facebook following our founder Lesley’s own experience adopting Grace, a dachshund rescued from a meat truck in August 2018. A true example that fairytales do happen. Lesley felt inspired to rescue as many dachshunds as possible from this horrific trade, and DMT Dachshund Rescue & Support Group was born on 12th May 2020.
Inspired by Grace’s story and our motto of “No Dachshund Left Behind”, our team of dedicated volunteers continues to work to rescue as many dachshunds as possible from horrific circumstances, with the hope of giving each dog a happy ending.
Thank you for standing with us through 300 rescues. Here’s to the next 300!
You can see all of the dogs we have saved so far by visiting our alumni page.
Our work depends on the generous donations of our supporters, please help save the life another dachshund by donating today.
