We are recruiting for a Chair to join and lead our Board of Trustees.

The main responsibilities of the Chair are:
To ensure the Trustee Board is effective in setting and implementing the charity’s culture, direction and strategy.
Lead the Board and ensure it remains focused on strategic matters in an inclusive and fair way.
Maintain oversight of the charity’s activities and maintaining high standards of governance.
Specifics:
- Leading on the development of the Trustee Board and ensuring that actions are seen through, priorities are met and progress is made aligned to the charity vision.
- Leading the trustee meetings, feeding into the development of an agenda and ensuring every trustee member is given the chance to contribute.
- Collaborating with other trustee members and the operational team to set a strategy for the charity, with clear objectives and action points, and ensuring it is updated on a regular basis.
- Acting as a channel of communications between the Board and operational staff members.
- Taking urgent action (but not decision-making unless authorised) between Board meetings when it isn’t possible or practical to hold a meeting.
- This is a busy role and would best suit someone who can dedicate one or two hours a week.
Legal obligation(s) and responsibilities:
- Comply with the guidance set out by OSCR and ensure all legal obligations and duties are met.
- Work with the entire Trustee Board to document and store the charity’s legal governing document.
- Work with the entire Trustee Board to submit the annual OCSR submission.
